NE Wind is Still Not Over Yet

Over the last few days, the wind has seemingly to have died down completely. When there is some wind, the direction shifted from NE to E. The fishermen are now out again. Dead flat mirror-like water… and it all seem very hopeless…

For the rest of the team, it all looks like there’s nothing worth to wait for. It’s time to pack up the small gear, and go big or go home.

Little that we know, there’s a surprise waiting around the corner.

Starting from yesterday, little white caps started to emerge from far distance. That means nothing less than WIND! The oh-so-coveted wind! The wind we’ve been missing out. The wind we talked about. It was consistent 15knots all day long, 3 hours of solid run under the sun.

And today was another surprise. Bigger, stronger winds blazing throughout the day. It was easily 20 knots of solid NE wind, with monstrous gusts between the patches, sending all of us in total awe & exhaustion.

What was initially a call for a quit now turns out to be a call for a battle.

So lessons learned, don’t say it’s over until it’s REALLY over!
